Thanks to the support of Citizens Across Atlanta, the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation is now able to start awarding college tuition reimbursement to Atlanta Fire Rescue personnel that qualify for the program. Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) for Your College Degree
Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation’s Tuition Assistance Program is for ALL AFRD Members!
Application Deadlines: January 31, June 30, and September 30 for the preceding semester. Applications for the Tuition Assistance Program may be obtained from the Atlanta Fire Rescue Training Academy, contact Chief Gary Gray at (404) 624-0650, ext. 110 or firstname.lastname@example.org .
Tuition Assistance: Approved applicants will be sent assistance checks for the preceding semester on March 1, August 1 and October 15th. A maximum of $1,800 per calendar year, per applicant will be provided, and is based on number of applicants and total assistance pool amount requested.
Member Eligibility: Have completed two years of continuous ARFD employment. You are not under any disciplinary probation of suspension at application submission or dispersion of funds. Member agrees to 3 years continuous employment following dispersion of assistance, otherwise must reimburse AFRF for all tuition assistance. You are working toward a AD/BS/BA degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Maintains a minimum 3.0 overall GPA, and at least 2.0 GPA for the semester seeking assistance.
