Shirley Anne Smith, MPA, CVA
Shirley Anne is the founding Executive Director of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation and joined the Foundation back in August of 2016. Shirley brings over a decade of nonprofit management experience, including significant leadership roles at Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta and most recently as Assistant Director of LaAmistad, Inc. She has successful experience in nonprofit fundraising, event management and operations management.
Shirley Anne graduated with a Master in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University and a dual degree program in journalism and sociology from Georgia State University. Notable recognitions include 30 Under 30 Nonprofit Leader award recipient, LEAD Atlanta Graduate Class of 2017, Council of Volunteer Administrators Member of the Year, Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Incorporated Sister of the Month and GALEO Leadership Institute Graduate. When she is not doing public speaking engagements across the state, she enjoys her consulting work as a facilitator for the Georgia Center for Nonprofits. Shirley Anne is married to her husband, Leroy, and has three children, Ronald, Layla and Sydney Anne.
Vonda Malbrough, MLA
As the first Development Director of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation, Vonda Malbrough believes that “ordinary people can do extraordinary things”. Vonda brings over 15 years of nonprofit grant management, event planning, annual funding, and individual giving experience which allows her passion for advocacy to tell the story of those in need.
Vonda graduated with a Masters of Liberal Arts in Business Management from Dallas Baptist University and received her undergraduate degree in Mass Communications from Sam Houston State University. Active in the community, Vonda has been involved with Leadership North Fulton, Leadership Johns Creek, The Junior League of Atlanta, and with The Georgia Center For Nonprofits, High Potential Diverse Leaders leadership program. Additionally, she enjoys consulting as a facilitator for the Girls Scouts of Greater Atlanta and for the Georgia Center for Nonprofits.
When she is not working, Vonda loves spending time with her multi-level Girl Scout troop, listening to a good book, watching movies and spending time with her two daughters, and her husband of 15+ years.
