The Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation is currently focused on several strategic initiatives identified as “mission critical” to continued improvement and enhanced capabilities of the AFRD. Each initiative is in need of significant donor support. These include:
- AFRD Professional Development and Member Services, such as the Tuition Assitance Scholarship Program (TAP) and the Leadership Development Prrogram
- Community Risk Reduction, such as the Smoke Alarm Porgram, Child Safety Seat Program and the Atlanta Emergency Preparedness Institute
- Fire Station Productivity and Sustainability in support of ongoing improvements to structures, equipment and community involvement/interaction
- AFRD and Community Recognition Programs, such as the annual Breakfast With our Bravest Award Ceremony and annual Firefighters Memorial Tribute
- AFRF Sustainability and Operations Funding to employ professional foundation management staff, expanding AFRF’s capabilities to help ensure a safe and prepared Atlanta
Ways to Give
Annual gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations – no matter what size – help us support the mission and program initiatives of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department as well as those of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation. Gifts may be made by cash, check, credit card, as well as online.
The easiest and most impactful way to show your ongoing support is through a monthly gift to AFRF. Your monthly donation provides a source of income we can count on to further our mission to increase the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department’s capacities and capabilities for emergency preparedness and response. Make a One-Time Gift
A gift to Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation can be made by check or credit card. You may make a credit card donation online now or over the phone at 404-538-7112. If you prefer to mail your donation, print this form (PDF) and return it to mailing address at: Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation, PO Box 19045, Atlanta, Georgia 31126.
Make your gift go even further. Find out if your employer has a matching gift program by contacting your Human Resources department. Request a matching gift form, fill it out and send it to us. We will complete our portion and return it to your employer. The matching funds will be sent directly to us. A pledge can be paid over time in cash or stocks. Monthly, quarterly and other payment schedules are available.
Tributes: Honor or Medal
Would you like to honor someone, living or deceased, in celebration of a birthday, anniversary or other important occasion? A tribute gift is a thoughtful way you can celebrate or acknowledge a firefighter’s service. When you make a tribute or memorial gift, a special card is sent to the honoree or designated family member recognizing your gift. Stock Gift, Planned Gift or Bequest
By contributing appreciated stocks, you receive a tax deduction while avoiding capital gains taxes. Or designate The Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation as the recipient of a cash gift or percentage of your estate in your will. You may also designate the Foundation as a beneficiary of a charitable trust, life insurance policy or IRA. The Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation is a public foundation that has been designated a 501 (c) 3 organization. Funds are professionally managed and carefully allocated to maximize the benefits to firefighters and EMT’s throughout the city of Atlanta.
